Driving License Translation

In Pakistan, driving licenses are categorized into various types, each serving a specific purpose and allowing individuals to operate different types of vehicles legally. The types of driving licenses in Pakistan include:

  1. Motorcycle License (LTV): This license permits individuals to operate motorcycles with engines below a certain capacity. It is commonly known as a Light Transport Vehicle (LTV) license.
  2. Car and Jeep License (HTV): This license allows individuals to drive cars and jeeps for personal use. It is often referred to as a Heavy Transport Vehicle (HTV) license.
  3. Commercial Vehicle License: This license is required for individuals operating commercial vehicles such as buses, trucks, and taxis for hire. It enables drivers to transport passengers or goods for commercial purposes.
  4. Tractor License: Individuals operating tractors or agricultural machinery on public roads are required to obtain a tractor license.
  5. Learner's Permit: Before obtaining a full driving license, individuals must first obtain a learner's permit. This permit allows them to practice driving under the supervision of a licensed driver.
  6. International Driving Permit (IDP): An IDP is issued to Pakistani citizens who wish to drive in foreign countries. It serves as a translation of the national driving license and is valid for one year.
